The Mummy Returns (2001) is an action-adventure fantasy directed by Stephen Sommers, serving as a sequel to the 1999 film The Mummy. Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz reprise their roles as Rick and Evelyn O'Connell, now married with a son, Alex (Freddie Boath). When Alex dons the mystical Bracelet of Anubis, he becomes the key to resurrecting the Scorpion King (Dwayne Johnson in his film debut). As the ancient evil Imhotep (Arnold Vosloo) is revived by a cult, the O'Connells embark on a perilous journey to save their son and prevent a catastrophic battle between Imhotep and the Scorpion King. The film also features John Hannah, Oded Fehr, Patricia Velásquez and Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje.
